Camp Helaman Packing Checklist

MAY 28-30

CLOTHING:

• Wear a White Shirt & Tie Thursday - We will only need Church Clothing for Thursday morning - Have an accessible change of clothing to change into after baptisms

• Pants / Shorts

• Shirts

• Sleeping Clothes

• Socks

• Underwear

• Coat, Jacket or Sweatshirt (It’s Cold at Night – may drop below 40)

• Rain Gear / Poncho

• Closed Toe Shoes & Sandals 

• Leather Gloves

• Hat / Beanie

GEAR:

• Personal Tent (Or Wards can organize Tent Needs)

• Warm Sleeping Bag (For Low Temps) / Sleeping Pad

• Pillow 

• Camelback / Water Container

• Headlamp / Flashlight / Batteries (Optional)

• Insect Repellent

• Camp Chair

• Scriptures / Journal & Pen or Pencil

• Leather Gloves or Similar

• TEMPLE RECOMMEND

TOILETRY KIT:

• Deodorant

• Toothbrush / Paste / Floss

1. WHAT IS LEHI STAKE’S CAMP HELAMAN ABOUT?

Camp Helaman is a priesthood encampment for Priests, Teachers and Deacons.  The purpose for 2026 is to help our Young Men:

• Deepen faith in Jesus Christ

• Prepare young men to make and keep priesthood covenants

• Prepare them to make and keep temple covenants

• Strengthen desire and resilience for missionary service

• Develop life skills and brotherhood

Additionally, Camp Helaman is about having fun.  There will be a multitude of activities both uplifting and adventurous.   

2. WHEN WILL CAMP HELAMAN HAPPEN?

Leave early on Thursday, May 28, 2026, and return on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Transportation will be coordinated by Ward Leaders.  We will be meeting at the Mesa Arizona Temple Grounds at 6:50am and returning from camp around 4pm on Saturday.

3. WHERE WILL CAMP HELAMAN BE LOCATED?

From the Mesa Arizona Temple

• Follow S Mesa Dr and E McKellips Rd to AZ-87 N/N Country Club Dr 

• Continue on AZ-87 N to Coconino County (1 hr 41 min (103 mi))

• Continue on Rim Rd. Drive to Forest Service Rd 56 (53 min (24.7 mi))

• Arrive at 10000 Forest Service 56 Rd, Happy Jack, AZ 86024
